This Introductory Posting to 'Bernie Moran's World, Then and Now' is identifying a New Blog by an Old Guy! But a literate, informed, reasonably well educated, happy, funny, always curious and, some say, always interesting old guy!!
The 'Then' starts in the 1930s, the decade I was born (1932) and raised, through the 'Now,' current times and occasionally beyond.
The early years of my 35 year subcontracts management career were highlighted by the seven years with PROJECT APOLLO; from the beginning, called conceptual design, through the Lunar Module Touchdown on the Moon is July, 1969.
A few addition lifetime highlights;
- Father of eight, grandfather of 18 and greatgrandfather of three
- Ever since earning a BA degree in English, my lifetime dedicated Avocation has been and is WRITING.
- Most recently, wrote, produced and narrated a DVD entitled, 'The Thirties and the Greatest Generation; Through the Eyes and Recollections of a child.'
Throughout my career I inhabited a fascinating world, for a non-technical person, in an ocean of scientists and engineers dedicatd to advanced research and development programs. So, I spent a significant part of my young adult life in company board rooms and in large conference rooms covering highly technical meetings during the day. And in the evenings helping change a lot of diapers and doing a lot of laundry and dishes.
If you think you may be interested in what's coming maybe a look at my profile will serve, to some extent, as a heads up on what to expect.
This Blog will be telling tales about Then and commenting on what's going on Now, with few limitations on the subjects making up our life experiences. Of paramount significance is the hope you will interact by writing back your own tales, observations, questions, answers, to let off steam or to tell me why I'm a. Brillant, or b. A Jerk. ALL will be welcome!
So stay tuned!!!
